Searching For Parcels
There are several ways to find a known parcel. You can search using any of the following methods:
By Parcel Address: when you know the complete street address
By Parcel Street: when you only know the street name
By Parcel Map and Lot: when you know the map and lot number for a parcel (from tax bills
and other official documents) *
Find A Street: finds a street by name, does not look at parcel addresses (see below for
details)
These searches are initiated by clicking the Search By
dropdown located in the upper left corner of the map window and clicking on the desired method.
Upon search method selection, one or more search term boxes will appear for you to enter the search
criteria. In most cases, these terms are "begins with" searches; meaning that you don't have to spell
out the complete search criteria.
After entering your search criteria, click the Find It button to initiate the search. The results
will appear in the information pane immediately below the search criteria.
*See Viewing Parcel Information below for more information.
Viewing Parcel Information
Once you have performed a parcel search, you can browse the results in the information pane. For each
parcel found, you can opt to zoom to that parcel (which also initiates a parcel selection - see
Parcel Selections for more information)
or view detailed information concerning that parcel. Simply click the desired link provided with each
parcel returned by the search.
Clicking the Property Details link will open a new Parcel Information window containing details
for that parcel. You can click any of the tabs on that window for further information:
- Assessing: contains most of the information found on this parcel's property record card on
file at the Assessors Office
- Parcel Image: displays a street-view picture (if on file) for this parcel, as shown on this
parcel's property record card on file at the
Assessors Office
- Property Tax: shows real estate tax information for the most recent tax year billed along with a
link to other tax records for this parcel, as maintained by the the
Tax Collector's Office
You can also click the Print button to obtain a print out of all details from all of those tabs.
When finished viewing this information, click the Close button or close the Parcel Information window.
NOTE: Parcel information shown will normally reflect recent updates but is not guaranteed to be current as of the date viewed.
Finding A Street
If you only want to locate where a given street is located, or wish to locate a street that may or may not
be used for parcel addresses (such as an interstate), you can use the Find A Street search method. Once
you've locate the desired street, you can use other map functions as needed.
To find a street this way, click the Search By dropdown
located in the upper left corner of the map window and then on Find A Street.
This search differs from a parcel Search By Street Name in that this search looks at the the list of
City streets rather than the parcel records. This search is also a "contains" search, meaning that all
street names containing the search term will be listed.
After entering the street name to search
for, click the Find It button. The results will appear in the information pane immediately below
the search criteria.
Clicking on any of the street names found will highlight that street on the
map and will zoom to a level that encompasses the full length of that street. NOTE: Since this is not
a parcel search, no parcels will be listed or selected in the search results.
